OVERVIEW
30 FUNDed TEACHING HOURS
NOVUS in Practice is a selective specialist provision project for 2026.
We’re committing 30 funded teaching hours across the region, delivered through Sport, Performing Arts and Creative provision — not as cover, but as work that genuinely adds depth, confidence and opportunity for children.
What Is NOVUS in Practice?
The strongest outcomes come when schools and providers are properly aligned — in vision, in standards, and in what they believe external provision should offer children.
Rather than spreading our work thinly, NOVUS in Practice focuses on depth over volume. It’s a way for us to work closely with a small number of schools, demonstrate how we operate in practice, and explore whether there’s a strong foundation for longer-term partnership.
What Selected Schools Will Receive
Each selected school will be awarded a short, fully funded block of specialist sessions, typically:
-
Up to three sessions
-
30–60 minutes per session
-
Delivered by NOVUS specialist staff
-
Across Sport, Performing Arts or Creative provision (depending on context)
This is not a one-off visit.
It’s an intentional starting point.
Why We’re Doing This
NOVUS delivers specialist provision to thousands of children each week across the South West.
From experience, we know that real impact doesn’t come from filling timetables. It comes from relationships, consistency, and a shared belief in what high-quality provision should look like.
NOVUS in Practice exists to protect that standard.
Who This Is For
This project is suited to schools that:
-
Value external provision as a meaningful part of school life
-
Care about progression, not just delivery
-
Are open to long-term partnership if alignment is right
-
Want children to experience specialist teaching that builds confidence and aspiration
It may not be right for every school — and that’s intentional.
Selection Process
From all expressions of interest received, five schools will be selected to take part.
Selection will be based on:
-
Alignment of vision and expectations
-
The role external provision plays within the school
-
The potential for long-term partnership
